All video game fans out there know that companies like Blizzard are at the forefront of the industry. This will most likely continue to be the case because Microsoft recently acquired Activision Blizzard for a jaw-dropping amount of money. Speaking of the company, the latter holds an annual event called BlizzCon, where it shares more information about its current titles and what people can expect from them. BlizzCon 2023 was no exception.
Speaking of BlizzCon 2023, www.cnwindpower.com reported that World of Warcraft, one of Blizzard’s signature titles, will receive three new expansions. “This shocked everyone, including those of us who’ve been playing World of Warcraft for more than 15 years. Blizzard usually reveals the new expansion during BlizzCon, but this is the first time we see 3 separate expansions revealed all at once”, said Veselin from Nostrabet.
BlizzCon had a lot of other exciting news besides those for World of Warcraft, which is why it is time to go over everything.
Three new World of Warcraft Expansions & More
The first thing that we want to discuss is the three new World of Warcraft expansions. Considering this is Blizzard’s most popular game, it is no surprise it continues to have millions of active players despite being almost 20 years old. Speaking of the three new expansions, they are a part of the Worldsoul Saga Storyline and are called:
- The War Within
- Midnight
- The Last Titan
The War Within will be the first expansion you can get, and what’s interesting about it is that you will have to go back to the Hearth of Azeroth. This expansion will become available in 2024, and you can already pre-purchase it.
Midnight will be the second expansion of the Worldsoul Saga Storyline, and it will allow players to return to Quel’thalas. You will need your allies and fight against the shadow of the Void.
Lastly, we have The Last Titan, which will probably be the most jaw-dropping World of Warcraft expansion yet. As we’ve seen from the official Trailer, the Titans will return to Azeroth, so we can only imagine what we’ll have access to.
In addition to the new expansions, WoW fans will also have access to a new continent called Khaz Algar. The new major city of the Nerubians will be called Azj-Kahet. We will also have the following:
- 8 Boss Raids & Dungenous when the game launches
- Delves – a new type of outdoor experience that can consist of 1 to 5 players
- Warbands
- Special kinds of transmogs
- Hero Talents
In terms of the new expansion, you can purchase The War Within: Base Edition for $49.99. The Heroic Edition is $69.99, whereas the Epic Edition is $89.99. The benefit of purchasing the latter is that you will have at least a three-day earlier access to the new expansion before everyone else.
Other World of Warcraft News from BlizzCon
There are many more new things that World of Warcraft players should be aware of, such as the cross-realm guilds and mythic. We will also have access to a new Battleground, and WoW Classic gets an update to Cataclysm. However, according to some rumours, Cata will have slight differences from the original expansion from several years ago. We expect to see it in the first half of 2024.
There will also be the WoW Classic Season of Discovery. This new option will allow special class-altering, and the maximum level will be 25. BlizzCon also announced the level cap would be increased every few months; we will also have special raids with new and reimagined bosses and much more. All of this becomes available on November 30.
Diablo IV – Events, New Expansion, New Class
Although World of Warcraft might have tons of fans, Diablo is also a legendary title that fans want to know more about. Following the news from BlizzCon, we’ve learned that fans will have access to Diavlo IV and a new expansion called Vessel of Hatred. It should become available in late 2024, and the campaign will focus on Mephisto’s fate.
Diablo IV Vessel of Hatred will be very different than before because there will be a new region called Torajan Jungle. What’s even more exciting is that Blizzard said there will be a new class that has never been in Diablo before. The bad news is that the BlizzCon panel did not share any information about it.
Aside from the announcement of the new Xpac, it is also worth knowing that the Malignant Rings are coming next week. Level 100 players will also have access to Abbatoir of Zir, and there will be a special Midwinter Blight Holiday Event lasting 3 weeks that will begin on November 12.
Overwatch 2 – New Heroes, Game Modes & More
The game that revolutionized its genre several years ago also received a lot of exciting news during BlizzCon. Perhaps the most important one is the addition of the newest Overwatch 2 hero, Mauga. The latter will be a Tank that has a lot of interesting abilities.
Mauga has two guns, one of which can ignite enemies, and the other one will deal bonus damage to that target. He also has Overrun, an ability that lets him charge and slam the ground, dealing damage in the process. He also has a Cardiac Overdrive that reduces incoming damage and gives “lifesteal”, as well as a passive ability called Berserker. The latter allows him to gain bonus HP when he lands headshots. As for the ultimate, Cage Fight traps all enemies close to Mauga and adds a protective barrier.
Besides Mauga, we also learned more information about three new Overwatch 2 heroes that will arrive in 2024. One of them will be a DPS, and her name is Venture, but we will also see a healer (currently under the codename Space Ranger) and a tank that we do not know anything about.
Overwatch 2 will also provide us with reworked competitive rewards. There will be a new rank above Grand Master called Ultimate, and players will learn more about their rank after each game. This was a much-needed change because the Overwatch 2 community is not happy with the current system.
What was even more surprising was that there will be a new PVP Mode called Clash, where teams have to fight for 5 points. The first map that will support the new mode is Hanaoka, which will be a reworked version of the classic Hanamura.
Hearthstone – Shadowtorn In the Badlands
Last but not least, we have Blizzard’s infamous card game called Hearthstone. After taking over the world several years ago, BlizzCon announced several interesting changes about it.
First, players will have access to something called Catch Up Packs. Those things will go through the cards you have accumulated in the last 5 seasons and check how many you got. After that, you will receive cards based on the percentage you are missing. Interestingly, all players will get 2 Catch-Up packs, but users can purchase more of them or get them from the Shadowdown in the Badlands pre-order. The idea here is to allow players who haven’t been in Hearthstone in a while to get back in the game.
Another exciting news is that HS fans can get cards with Excavate that will give them a Treasure when they use them. Moreover, there will be a Duo mode, where you can play with friends. Each of you will have a board, Tavern Tier, and gold, but the interesting thing is that you will have shared HP and armor. Moreover, you will be able to pass cards to your friend, but this will only be available after spending gold.
Betting on Games from Blizzard
Esports betting is gaining new fans every day, but when it comes down to Blizzard’s titles, things are more complicated. There are not that many online gambling platforms that allow people to wager on things like World of Warcraft or Diablo. However, we work with the best names in the industry, so don’t be surprised if you find a lot of different gambling companies that will let you wager on those things.
Overwatch 2 and StarCraft are, without a doubt, the best games from Blizzard for online betting because they are real eSports. Consequently, you can find them on almost every sports betting operator that offers such things.
One of the advantages of wagering on games from Blizzard is their odds. Since the biggest Esports titles are developed by Valve and Valorant, bookies want people to wager on other types of games, such as those from WoW’s creators. As a result, they often have better odds and even special kinds of bonuses.
