The festive season is still ongoing and in the next few days, we’ll see the final set of fixtures in the Saudi Pro League before they go on their festive break. We’re over half way through the campaign and although many teams know what they’re aiming for, there are bound to be a few twists and turns in the months ahead. Today, we’ll be taking a look at a fun clash between Al-Ahli and Al Khaleej.
Al-Ahli Form GuideThey may have been around for a long time, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Al-Ahli are the most successful club in the history of Saudi Arabia - far from it, in fact. They’ve been able to spread their best period out over a handful of decades and in the midst of that, they’ve also had some questionable spells, as you can probably tell from their recent relegation. Still, through it all, they do have quite a few accomplishments under their belt.
Across their last five games, Al-Ahli haven’t conceded a single goal. They drew 0-0 with Al-Shabab, battered Abha 6-0, drew 0-0 with Al-Raed and then smashed Al-Fayha 4-0. In their most recent appearance, they did well to defeat Al-Hazm 4-0 on the road.
Al Khaleej Form GuideLast season, to put it lightly, served as an incredibly close call for Al-Khaleej as a club. They wound up finishing 14th out of 16 teams, meaning they just about survived ahead of Al-Adalah - but it’s certainly worth noting that it was a very close call, with just three points separating the two. Thankfully for Al-Khaleej, they went unbeaten in their last three fixtures to ensure they avoided the trap door.
After defeating Abha 2-1 to progress in the King Cup of Champions, Al-Khaleej went on the road and did a professional job in defeating Al-Riyadh 1-0. Then, when playing host to Al-Fayha a few days before Christmas, they looked solid in a 3-0 win.
Match PredictionAl-Ahli and Al Khaleej are both entertaining teams to watch and they both appear to be in red hot form right now. This is going to be an exciting battle and we’re pretty confident in saying that, which is why our prediction for the game is going to be over 2.5 goals scored.
