We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa.
Brighton Form GuideBrighton & Hove Albion have simply run out of steam this season and that isn’t an unfair assessment, in our book. Their European campaign was solid enough but between their exit and their league position, there are plenty of things to reassess in the summer. For Roberto De Zerbi, you have to wonder whether or not he even wants to carry on in the role.
Across their last six games, Brighton haven’t been able to buy a win. They did pick up a point in draws with Brentford and Burnley, but they’ve also been handed defeats courtesy of Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and, most recently, Bournemouth.
Aston Villa Form GuideAston Villa supporters are on cloud nine right now. They are on the verge of the Conference League final, they’ve had an excellent Premier League campaign, and they are so, so close to earning a spot in the Champions League. Unai Emery has done wonders with this football club and as we look ahead to the future, things are looking very bright for the boys from the second city.
Villa were taken to penalties by Lille but edged past them to reach the semi-finals of the Conference League. Alongside that, they’ve been held to a draw by Brentford and Chelsea, and they’ve also managed to defeat Arsenal and Bournemouth.
Match PredictionWhile we do think all signs suggest Villa should win this game, they have a myriad of things to consider. They have European commitments, they have inexperienced players operating at a high level, and the pressure is at an all-time high. In our view, this one will end in a draw.
