We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Aston Villa and Liverpool.
Aston Villa Form GuideAston Villa supporters are on cloud nine right now. They are on the verge of the Conference League final, they’ve had an excellent Premier League campaign, and they are so, so close to earning a spot in the Champions League. Unai Emery has done wonders with this football club and as we look ahead to the future, things are looking very bright for the boys from the second city.
Villa would’ve hoped for more from their visit to Brighton but for whatever reason, they just couldn’t stick the ball in the back of the Seagulls’ net. They were tentative throughout long spells of the game, and the final result reflected that as they lost 1-0.
Liverpool Form GuideThe farewell tour hasn’t exactly gone to plan for Jurgen Klopp as he looks set to finish his final season in England with just the League Cup to his name. Alas, while their push for the title has crumbled, there’s something to be said for giving their famous manager a good send-off. So, in the next few matches, we’d imagine that’s going to be their main focus, and rightly so.
Liverpool needed to get back to winning ways in their clash with Tottenham and that’s exactly what they did. They had to fend off a fightback in the second half but they can’t be too upset by the result, as they were able to pick up three points in a solid 4-2 win.
Match PredictionBoth of these teams will want to finish the season strong but for Villa, they are desperate to secure Champions League football next season - and that much goes without saying. The Reds will put up a good fight, though, and our prediction for this one is going to be over 2.5 goals scored.
