Stoke City are safe for another season in the Championship, and they will be looking to make a better push of things next season. To end their campaign this season they welcome Bristol City on Saturday afternoon, a game between two teams that have nothing to play for, but one that should still be a decent affair, with both sides coming in here on the back of pretty good form.
Stoke City Form GuideStoke needed to get points on the board a couple of weeks ago, and they've done exactly that. While they've not been good all season, when it's mattered, they've stepped up their play. With 53 points now, they're safe regardless, and can end here, then immediately switch their attention to next season, where they will look to move forward under Steven Schumacher.
They have lost just one of their last five games, and in their last three, have one draw and two wins for seven points. They won 1-0 away at Southampton last weekend, and 3-0 at home to Plymouth before that. A 1-1 draw away at Sheffield Wednesday rounds off their last three games, a very good spell.
Bristol City Form GuideMid table Bristol City are one of the teams that have had nothing to play for since a couple of months ago really. They've been in and around mid table, not going anywhere, but also not dropping, and that's been thanks to them keeping up their level of form, and not letting the intensity drop off despite no way of moving up the table too much.
They come into this one on the back of a seven game unbeaten run, with four wins and three draws in that period. They've beaten Leicester, Plymouth, Blackburn and Rotherham, and kept a clean sheet in all of those wins. Draws have been against Norwich, Huddersfield and Sunderland and all in, they have conceded just two goals in those seven games.
Match PredictionI like both teams here, they both arrive in good form but I am going to give the slight edge to Stoke. They've done very well recently, when needed to, and I think they can put in another good performance, and bag another win.
