On Sunday afternoon, reigning Scottish champions Celtic travel to Dens Park to face Dundee as the Hoops look to move closer to retaining their SPL crown.
Dundee have failed to win in three SPL gamesThe home team is winless in their previous three matches in the Scottish top-flight. Last time out in the SPL, Dundee drew 0-0 against Celtic’s city rivals Rangers. It was the second straight goalless draw after the same scoreline against Aberdeen in the previous game.
Despite their recent seemingly poor SPL form, Dundee has suffered just one defeat in their previous six league outings.
The Dark Blues have a mixed recent home record in the SPL. However, they have won just once in their previous four league games on home soil and have also claimed three victories in their last nine matches.
Their recent home games in the SPL have been relatively high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in seven of the previous ten outings on home soil.
Celtic looking to stay ahead of Rangers in the title raceThe Hoops booked their place in the FA Cup final courtesy of a penalty kick win over Aberdeen after an enthralling 3-3 draw last weekend.
The reigning Scottish champions can now turn their attention back to the SPL this weekend. A 3-0 home win over St Mirren in their last league outing means that the visitors are unbeaten in four league games, having recorded three wins and a draw.
They have also been prolific in the SPL recently, scoring at least three goals in their previous four games.
Celtic also have a decent recent away record in the Scottish top-flight, winning five of their last eight league matches on their travels and scoring at least two goals in six of their previous eight away league games.
What am I backing?Celtic has looked strong recently, and I am backing the visitors to record the win they need to boost their title defence.
