We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Arsenal and Chelsea.
Arsenal Form GuideArsenal fans have been in this position before - a few games left to go and they’re chasing Manchester City. It’s an unenviable spot to be in and yet, Mikel Arteta seems to be as committed as ever to the idea that he can secure a first league championship in 20 years for the club. At this point, all they can do is focus on their own fate, and hope for help elsewhere.
Following wins over Luton and Brighton, Arsenal registered a 2-2 draw at home against Bayern Munich. From there, they lost to Aston Villa and then Bayern in their second leg collision, before getting back to winning ways with a 2-0 triumph over Wolves.
Chelsea Form GuideThis season hasn’t been particularly fruitful for Mauricio Pochettino and while it may not seem like it, a lot rests on how they bounce back between now and May. They need to make a real fight of it in their pursuit of European football because if they don’t, they could find themselves going through yet another major change by the time the summer window rolls around.
Prior to their 1-0 loss at the hands of Manchester City at Wembley, Chelsea were on a nice unbeaten run. They did drop points in draws with Burnley and Sheffield United, but they also picked up nice victories over Everton, Manchester United and Leicester.
Match PredictionArsenal fans know the pressure that is currently resting on their shoulders better than most, and on the flip side, Chelsea supporters can’t hide away from the fact that this season has mostly been a bust. In what we expect to be a physical affair, we’re going to back a draw here.
