We’ve arrived at the quarter-final stage of this season’s FA Cup as all eight remaining clubs attempt to book their place at Wembley. They’ve all done incredibly well to get to this point in the competition and now, they’re just two wins away from being able to compete for the trophy. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an electric clash between Chelsea and Leicester City.
Chelsea Form GuideChelsea’s season hasn’t quite gone to plan under Mauricio Pochettino - at least, not up to this point. They reached the League Cup final but fell short and now, this is their last chance at silverware. In a tie like this, they’ll back themselves to make it to Wembley. Of course, there are plenty of big clubs still left in the mix, but they’ve got every chance of going all the way.
Chelsea looked comfortable in their third round tie with Preston, seeing off the Championship side 4-0. They proceeded to beat Aston Villa in a replay after a 0-0 draw in their first encounter, before edging past Leeds in a thrilling 3-2 victory.
Leicester Form GuideLeicester City’s primary focus is getting back into the Premier League, and they appear to be well on their way to doing that. So, it can’t hurt to have a nice FA Cup run to go alongside that. The Foxes are full of confidence and they know what they can do in this competition, which is why we believe they’ve got every chance of springing an upset this weekend.
Leicester really had to fight to get past Millwall in the third round but they managed it, coming away with a 3-2 win. From there, they dominated Birmingham 3-0 in the fourth round before edging past Premier League side Bournemouth 1-0.
Match PredictionThis one could go either way and we honestly mean that given how both teams have fared in their respective leagues this season. We expect it to go down to the wire but when push comes to shove, we’re going to back a narrow Chelsea win in this one.
