The Premier League is back this weekend with a full slate of fixtures as we continue through the month of February. There’s still a lot left to figure out this season at both ends of the table and, as always, English football’s top tier continues to throw up surprises in every direction. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun encounter between Everton and Crystal Palace.
Everton Form GuideEverton fans have already had to deal with a ten-point deduction this season, and the expectation is that it could get even worse in the weeks and months ahead. Alas, for Sean Dyche, all he can focus on is what’s happening on the pitch. The Toffees certainly have the quality necessary to do some damage, but consistency is going to be key.
Everton simply couldn’t keep up with the quality of Manchester City and that’s the harsh truth of the matter. They were outplayed in most departments and even though they showed spirit, that doesn’t mean much when you lose 2-0.
Crystal Palace Form GuideThe further into the season we go, the more we’re seeing Crystal Palace fans question the position of manager Roy Hodgson. He’s done a lot of good for the club during his association with the Eagles, but there’s a very real chance that they’re going to be in a relegation battle in the months ahead. If they want to change that, they may need to consider a change at the top.
Palace actually played quite well in their home clash with Chelsea and you could argue they deserved at least a point from the game. Ultimately, though, they didn’t get that, slipping to a 3-1 defeat with Roy’s tenure in serious jeopardy.
Match PredictionThe question marks surrounding Hodgson can’t be ignored but in equal measure, Everton just aren’t consistent enough to give their fans confidence in pulling off a big result here. In our view, the most likely outcome in a clash like this one is a (somewhat tense) draw.
