The Premier League is back with a full set of midweek fixtures as we return to regularly scheduled programming to end the chaotic month of January. There are so many things up in the air at both ends of the table but hopefully, in the weeks ahead, we’ll start to get a bit more clarity. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun clash between Fulham and Everton.
Fulham Form GuideBetween fan protests and some questionable results in the league, the vibe isn’t particularly great at Fulham right now. The Cottagers certainly aren’t one of the favourites to go down, but we aren’t at the point where they can be ruled out either. There are question marks surrounding the ownership and if that doesn’t change soon, they could quickly begin to snowball.
Since beating Arsenal and Rotherham, Fulham haven’t been able to win a game. They lost to Liverpool and Chelsea, drew with the Reds in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final, then exited the FA Cup courtesy of a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle.
Everton Form GuideEverton fans have already had to deal with a ten-point deduction this season, and the expectation is that it could get even worse in the weeks and months ahead. Alas, for Sean Dyche, all he can focus on is what’s happening on the pitch. The Toffees certainly have the quality necessary to do some damage, but consistency is going to be key.
After losing to Manchester City and Wolves, Everton drew with Crystal Palace in the cup and Aston Villa in the league. They beat Palace in their third round replay, but in the fourth round just ten days later, they were beaten 2-1 at home by Luton.
Match PredictionWe don’t think this one is going to be an immediate classic, and that’s us putting it lightly. Fulham and Everton have a lot of work to do both on and off the pitch, and with that in mind, we’re going to go ahead and predict a pretty poor draw.
