We’ve arrived at the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs as twelve nations attempt to make their way through to the big tournament this summer. These teams have put in a great deal of effort in order to get to this stage and with just two games separating them and glory, they’ll do everything in their power to get across the finish line. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Greece and Kazakhstan.
Greece Form GuideEveryone remembers Greece for their famous triumph back at Euro 2004 and now, 20 years later, they seem ready and prepared to try and make another run to the big time. We don’t mean actually winning it, of course, because that would be an even bigger miracle than it was two decades ago, but qualifying is going to be a big target given that they haven’t managed it in their last two attempts.
In terms of their group campaign, Greece will be left feeling fairly satisfied. They finished 3rd out of five countries in Group B, picking up 13 points from their eight games with four wins, one draw and three losses.
Kazakhstan Form GuideAs an independent nation, Kazakhstan have never been able to qualify for the World Cup or European Championships. They haven’t really been able to get close, either, but in recent times, they’ve made steady improvements when it comes to bringing through fresh talent. They look like a solid unit with a handful of players that can cause teams problems, and long may it continue.
In terms of their group campaign, Kazakhstan will be left feeling pretty proud. They finished 4th out of six countries in Group H, picking up 18 points from their ten games with six wins, no draws and four losses.
Match PredictionKazakhstan serve as an interesting underdog story here but we do think they’re going to give the Greeks a really good run for their money from start to finish. With that being said, we think the experience factor will make the biggest difference of all, with Greece securing the win.
