It's the final games of the group stage over the next few days, and they begin with Group A on Sunday. Scotland and Hungary still have a chance to get through via a third place spot, but need a win here. They've both failed to win so far, but Scotland do have a point, whereas Hungary have nothing to show for their efforts.
Scotland Form GuideScotland were dreadful in their opening game, but can take plenty of heart from what they did on Wednesday. They were good against Switzerland, drawing that game, but they did have the better chances to win that game, and were probably a little unlucky in the end.
The fact that 3rd placed sides can get through isn't seen as a good thing by many, but it does mean this game has some meaning, without the 3rd place option, these two would have been playing for pretty much nothing, given Scotland's goal difference. If Scotland do need to be a little better with one particular thing, then it is certainly finishing. In the second half of their game against Switzerland, they had a few chances, but didn't take them.
Hungary Form GuideTwo games and two defeats for Hungary so far. They've not played too well in either, and deserve nothing from them, but just like Scotland, they've really struggled to take their chances and that has cost them being any closer to the teams they've played. In particular, their first game, a 3-1 loss to Switzerland but at 2-1 down, they had three or four big chances, but didn't take them.
They lost 2-0 to Germany on Wednesday, a game where they were outclassed. Usually they would be coming here with nothing to play for, but thanks to the third placed teams potentially going through, they have something to play for. A win would give them three points, and put them in the mix to take one of those places.
Match PredictionI really like Scotland here and they are my pick to win the game. They turned the corner against Switzerland, and played really well. A repeat will be enough to take three points here, and if they do that, I think it will also be enough for them to reach the knockout phase.
