We’re into the final furlong now as we approach the last few games of the Ligue 1 season. French football has really come into its own since last August with a campaign full of exciting twists and turns at both ends of the table. Now, it’s all a case of seeing who can hold their nerve. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an interesting clash between Nice and Le Havre.
Nice Form GuideAfter another midtable campaign last season, Nice went back to the drawing board in the summer and did everything they could to assemble a strong, competitive unit from top to bottom. Based on the evidence thus far, it certainly seems as if they’ve achieved that goal, but the big test will come in the weeks ahead as they attempt to claw back up into contention.
Nice went on the road to battle Strasbourg last week and it proved to be the kind of game that helped showcase all of the quality that they possess. They didn’t blow Strasbourg out of the water completely, but they did secure a much-needed 3-1 win away from home.
Le Havre Form GuideWhile Le Havre are struggling right now, they’re still located just above the relegation zone - and for the time being, that’s all they can really ask for. They have a few games remaining to really kick on and secure their place in the top flight for another year, but it goes without saying that it’s going to be tough. Either way, there’s going to be a lot of drama that lies ahead.
Following on from a dramatic 3-3 draw away to PSG, Le Havre came up against Strasbourg just a matter of days ago - and, much like Nice, they looked solid and were able to dictate the pace of the match. They came away as 3-1 winners which should be a huge boost for them.
Match PredictionLe Havre are fighting for their lives and that can always make teams more dangerous, especially in a league like this one. We think this is going to be a pretty tight game despite what many may initially think, but in terms of an official prediction, we’re still shooting for a Nice win.
