We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City.
Brighton Form GuideWhile European football next season may not be fully off the table, Brighton fans will probably settle for a place in the top half at this point in the campaign. They’ve got the right squad and the right attitude needed to go far again when August rolls around but between now and then, their big focus just needs to be on finishing strong and seeing where they wind up.
Following wins over Nottingham Forest and Roma, Brighton went on a four-game winless streak. They were beaten by Liverpool and Arsenal and in addition to that, they were only able to manage a draw against Brentford and Burnley.
Manchester City Form GuideManchester City have their eyes set on the double and if they win the remainder of their fixtures, they’ll achieve that goal. Pep Guardiola knows what it takes to succeed at the highest level in English football and we’re intrigued to see how they approach the remainder of the campaign. Either way, success is in their DNA, and it’s going to be pretty tough to stop them now.
Following wins over Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, City drew 3-3 at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid. They’ve since beaten Luton 5-1 in the Premier League, lost to Real Madrid on penalties and beaten Chelsea 1-0 in their FA Cup semi-final.
Match PredictionIn the words of Walter White: nothing stops this train. Nothing. City only have their domestic duties to focus on now that they’re out of Europe and that’s bad news for the rest of the Premier League. We think they’ll take the Seagulls to the cleaners here (eventually), which is why we’re backing a Manchester City win.
