We’re at the end of a long season over in France as the nation’s top flight season comes to an end on Sunday. There are still a few key things to iron out as we approach the final set of fixtures but for the most part, we’ve got a pretty good idea of how things are going to shape up. Today, we’re going to be taking a look at the collision between Monaco and Nantes.
Monaco Form GuideMonaco serve as an ever-present member of the French elite when it comes to the beautiful game and so far this season, they’re making a real effort to prove why they should be viewed as such. They are starting to redefine themselves as an exciting entity at this level and while there’s still a long way to go, there are plenty of reasons to believe that the future is bright.
In their visit to take on Montpellier last weekend, Monaco looked calm, confident and composed throughout the majority of the match. They were really comfortable at both ends of the pitch, scoring twice as they eased their way to a nice 2-0 win on the road.
Nantes Form GuideFollowing on from a memorable cup run last season, the hope was that Nantes would kick on and do something bigger this time around - but that hasn’t come to fruition. They were in the midst of a real relegation battle for a while and while they’re in the clear now, their fanbase will be questioning what needs to change for them in the summer transfer window.
Nantes and Lille collided last Sunday in a fixture that was probably more competitive than anyone expected to be. There were lots of chances and a whole lot of talking points, but in the end, it was Lille who managed to get the job done with a narrow 2-1 victory.
Match PredictionNantes are on the beach whereas Monaco know that they’ve got Champions League football to enjoy once again next season. In essence, this should be a comprehensive win for the hosts, and that’s what we believe is more likely - which is why we’re backing a Monaco victory.
