We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Newcastle Form GuideNewcastle United went through a really rocky period a few months back and at this point, their sole focus needs to be on securing European football for next season. There are bound to be questions surrounding Eddie Howe’s future once we arrive at the summer transfer window but in the next few games, the Magpies know that they have a whole lot of work to do.
Burnley started their home game with Newcastle pretty well last weekend, but it quickly got away from them - and we mean quickly. They were left stunned as the Magpies raced out to a comfortable lead, with the final result being 4-1 to Eddie Howe’s men.
Brighton Form GuideBrighton & Hove Albion have simply run out of steam this season and that isn’t an unfair assessment, in our book. Their European campaign was solid enough but between their exit and their league position, there are plenty of things to reassess in the summer. For Roberto De Zerbi, you have to wonder whether or not he even wants to carry on in the role.
Brighton’s poor run of form as of late has been there for everyone to see but when they played host to Aston Villa last weekend, they managed to dig deep and pull a rabbit out of the hat. In what proved to be a tense and fun game, they scored late to earn a valuable 1-0 win.
Match PredictionBrighton managed to rediscover some form last weekend and that’ll bring forward some hope for the next few games, but in terms of quality, it just feels like the Magpies have enough in the locker to really bully them off the ball in this one. Therefore, we’re going to predict a Newcastle win.
