We’re at the end of a long season over in France as the nation’s top flight season comes to an end on Sunday. There are still a few key things to iron out as we approach the final set of fixtures but for the most part, we’ve got a pretty good idea of how things are going to shape up. Today, we’re going to be taking a look at the collision between Lille and Nice.
Lille Form GuideWe are a few years removed from the heroics of Lille winning Ligue One and ever since then, they haven’t quite been able to sustain the momentum they built for themselves. That doesn’t mean they haven’t got a good base or a good squad - far from it. In fact, if recent evidence is anything to go by, their momentum towards the end of this campaign could take them back to the UCL.
Nantes and Lille collided last Sunday in a fixture that was probably more competitive than anyone expected to be. There were lots of chances and a whole lot of talking points, but in the end, it was Lille who managed to get the job done with a narrow 2-1 victory.
Nice Form GuideNice fans still believe they can have a really positive end to the season, and why not? They’ve got a solid squad, a passionate manager, and a fanbase that is willing to follow them into the darkness and beyond. There’s still plenty of work to be done and that much is clear for all to see, but it’ll be fascinating to see how things play out in their next couple of games.
Nice and Le Havre actually matched one another blow for blow for long spells of their came last Friday, which actually gives us a pretty interesting insight into what we can expect from them both moving forward. Alas, one goal did decide the outcome, with Nice edging out a 1-0 win.
Match PredictionBoth of these sides have done great things so far this season but in terms of who this game is going to favour, we think Brest will be the ones keeping the closest eye on it. It’ll be competitive and technical, but for an official prediction, we’re actually going to go for a draw here.
