Bolivia and Panama will clash in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the final Group C game at the Copa America.
BoliviaLa Verde has had a challenging run in the Copa America. They started their Group C campaign with a 2-0 loss against the USA and suffered a 5-0 defeat against fellow South American’s Uruguay in their last match.
The defeat against La Celeste ended any realistic hope of Bolivia qualifying for the knockout stages simply due to their goal difference compared to second-place USA and their third-place opponents.
It would take a turnaround in goal difference, the kind of which the Copa America has never seen before, for Bolivia to make the last eight of the competition.
Bolivia’s recent results at the Copa have not been surprising, considering that Antonio Zago’s team has suffered five straight international defeats while scoring just once.
PanamaLos Canaleros have enjoyed mixed fortunes in Group C. They opened their campaign with a 3-1 defeat against group favourites Uruguay before recording a 2-1 win over the USA.
They are now in a battle with the USA for second place in the group. With USMNT facing a potentially tricky encounter against Uruguay, this game could represent a big opportunity for Panama to make it to the competition's knockout stages.
If the USA fails to take anything from their game against Uruguay, Panama will only need a point to progress to the quarter-finals.
The victory over Greg Berhalter’s team ended a three-game losing streak at the Copa America for the Central America nation.
Their recent games have been relatively high-scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their previous 11 international outings.
What am I backing?Bolivia have been poor at the Copa America, while Panama has just been inconsistent. It’s hard to judge, but I expect goals from this game, so I am backing over 2.5 goals scored.
