We’re at the end of a long season over in France as the nation’s top flight season comes to an end on Sunday. There are still a few key things to iron out as we approach the final set of fixtures but for the most part, we’ve got a pretty good idea of how things are going to shape up. Today, we’re going to be taking a look at the collision between Metz and Paris Saint-Germain.
Metz Form GuideWhile it’s not a mathematical certainty, Metz fans are preparing themselves for the relegation play-offs. The main aim in a game like this will be to showcase that they’re more than capable of putting up a fight when their backs are against the wall, and although there will be plenty of pessimistic supporters in the stands, you can bet they’ll give everything they’ve got in the next few weeks.
Metz went on the road to take on Strasbourg last weekend in a desperate attempt to keep within touching distance of those above them. Alas, they weren’t quite able to pick up the result they needed, with a 2-1 loss leaving them wondering if they could’ve gone that extra mile.
PSG Form GuideParis Saint-Germain fans will be happy to celebrate another league title this weekend, but there are still plenty of questions that remain regarding their long-term future as a club. They faltered in Europe once again, and Kylian Mbappe is set to leave the club in the summer. They’re more than good enough (and rich enough) to rebuild, but we’re not sure what direction they’re heading in.
PSG appear to have taken their foot off of the gas and if you don’t believe us, go back and take a look at their home clash with Toulouse last Sunday. They just weren’t at the races in any way, shape or form, which is probably why they wound up losing 3-1.
Match PredictionLogic dictates that PSG are probably going to win this game but for some reason, we can see this being more of a ‘friendly’ vibe with occasional bursts from Metz here and there. It should be interesting to watch in portions but in terms of a prediction, we’re going to shoot for under 2.5 goals scored.
