We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Manchester United and Sheffield United.
Manchester United Form GuideManchester United supporters have spent the last decade experiencing brief moments of joy, but for the most part, their inconsistency has really hurt them on the pitch. Erik ten Hag is the latest manager to try and make a difference at Old Trafford, but there are still far more questions than answers for the Red Devils as we approach a critical few months for them - and we mean critical.
Since beating Liverpool in the FA Cup, United have been poor. They drew with Brentford, lost 4-3 to Chelsea, drew with Liverpool and Bournemouth, and then required penalties to get past Coventry after the Championship side initially came from 3-0 down to get back to 3-3.
Sheffield United Form GuideSheffield United fans know that they are the favourites for the drop and in a lot of ways, it feels like they don’t have much to lose because of that. Chris Wilder will do everything in his power to keep them in the top flight but they need a big shift in momentum in the next couple of weeks. Whether or not they can make that change, though, remains to be seen, and it seems unlikely.
Sheffield United simply haven’t been able to get going in their push for survival. They’ve picked up a point in draws with Bournemouth, Fulham and Chelsea, but they’ve also suffered defeats at the hands of Liverpool, Brentford and Burnley.
Match PredictionSheffield United are going to give it everything they’ve got in this one because, to put it bluntly, that’s exactly what they need to do if they want to survive. We’re anticipating a really exciting affair here but in terms of a prediction, we still have to go for a Manchester United win.
