We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea Form GuideThis season hasn’t been particularly fruitful for Mauricio Pochettino and while it may not seem like it, a lot rests on how they bounce back between now and the end of May. They need to make a real fight of it in their pursuit of European football because if they don’t, they could find themselves going through yet another major change by the time the summer window rolls around.
Ever since dominating Everton 6-0 in the Premier League, Chelsea have somewhat collapsed. They’ve been beaten by Manchester City and Arsenal, and despite a spirited fightback, they only managed a 2-2 draw on the road to Aston Vila.
Tottenham Form GuideTottenham Hotspur fans have enjoyed seeing Big Ange do his thing with this squad - but as time has gone on, he’s been forced to confront the cold reality of how difficult the Premier League is. The main goal for the remainder of the campaign will be to get the club back in the top four and if he can manage that, he’ll have a solid platform to build off of in the summer.
Spurs’ 1-1 draw with West Ham was followed up by a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest that gave fans genuine hope regarding their Champions League aspirations. Alas, that didn’t last particularly long as they went on to lose to Newcastle and Arsenal.
Match PredictionChelsea and Tottenham are both struggling as we reach the end of the season and they could both do with a big win in order to get some confidence back. Alas, their respective defensive issues are hard to ignore, which is one of the reasons why we’re shooting for over 2.5 goals scored.
