We’ve arrived at the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs as twelve nations attempt to make their way through to the big tournament this summer. These teams have put in a great deal of effort in order to get to this stage and with just two games separating them and glory, they’ll do everything in their power to get across the finish line. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Bosnia & Herzegovina and Ukraine.
Bosnia Form GuideOutside of a lone appearance at the World Cup in 2014, Bosnia & Herzegovina haven’t had much luck as an independent nation. They’ve fallen at the final hurdle in the playoffs in the last three Euros qualification campaigns, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see them go down the same path. Hopefully, for their own sake, they’ll see these playoffs as a big moment for them.
In terms of their group campaign, Bosnia will be left feeling fairly disappointed. They finished 5th out of six countries in Group J, picking up nine points from their ten games with three wins, no draws and seven losses.
Ukraine Form GuideIt goes without saying that the Ukrainian national team has been through a lot, as can be said for the country as a whole. In the football sense, however, they need to bounce back after failing to qualify for the World Cup. They have the quality necessary to spring a few surprises, but what they appear to be lacking is some real team cohesion to help transform them into something new.
In terms of their group campaign, Ukraine will be left feeling fairly satisfied. They finished 3rd out of five countries in Group C, picking up 14 points from their eight games with four wins, two draws and two losses.
Match PredictionWe anticipate that this is going to be a pretty tense game from start to finish and, in all honesty, it’s pretty hard to say which way it’s going to swing. We expect both to have their moments but in terms of a definitive prediction, we’re only comfortable in shooting for under 2.5 goals scored.
