The Premier League is back with a full set of weekend fixtures as we return to regularly scheduled programming to continue the month of February. There are so many things up in the air at both ends of the table but hopefully, in the weeks ahead, we’ll start to get a bit more clarity. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun clash between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford.
Wolves Form GuideWolverhampton Wanderers are looking really good right now and Gary O’Neil deserves a lot of plaudits for what he’s been able to do at the club. When he came in, they were seen as one of the favourites to go down - but at this point, their focus is on the top half as opposed to the bottom three. With a decent cup run to go alongside that, the kings of the Black Country are sitting pretty.
Last weekend, Wolves went to Stamford Bridge and made a real statement in their clash with Chelsea. They had the Blues on the back foot for long periods of the game and in the end, they were able to come away with a massive 4-2 victory.
Brentford Form GuideFor the first time since being promoted to the Premier League, it does feel as if there’s a bit of panic in the air at Brentford. As a club, they’re still being run very well, and they aren’t in any immediate danger when it comes to the relegation battle. At the same time, it only takes one bad run of form to lead you down the wrong path, and the Bees have shown some real weaknesses lately.
While Brentford’s performances haven’t exactly inspired confidence in recent months, they really made themselves known against Manchester City. They went 1-0 up and if it wasn’t for the quality of their opponents, they may have held on instead of losing 3-1.
Match PredictionWolves certainly seem to have Brentford’s number this season based on the three encounters they’ve had up to this point. While we do believe they’ll probably be the ones to win this, we’re going to play it safe with our prediction and shoot for under 2.5 goals scored.
